She continued her studies with Natalia Gutman at the Hochschule für Musik in Stuttgart, Germany, and followed masterclasses with Mstislav Rostropovich and Yo Yo Ma. In 1984 Larissa Groeneveld won the First Prize at the Luis Coleman International Competition in Spain,in 1992 the was finalist in the ARD Duo-Competition in München. She has performed together with various musicians, such as Herman Krebbers, Natalia Gutman and Reinbert de Leeuw, and has made several tours through Europe, Amerika and South Amerika. Groeneveld has performed as a soloist with major orchestras including the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra, the Stuttgarter Philharmoniker and the Berliner Symfonike.Since 2001 she is teaching cello and chambermusic on the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Tijdens dit kinderconcert (dat voor volwassenen minstens zo leuk is als voor kinderen) speelt het trio geen stukken die je zou omschrijven als simpele muziek. Dat het publiek, van jong tot oud, ademloos zit te luisteren en te kijken, komt vooral door de merkwaardige figuren die auditie komen doen. Een Russische beer, een dodo en een angsthaas willen alledrie dirigent worden. Dat gaat niet zo makkelijk, want ze worden nogal gehinderd door hun persoonlijke trekjes. Twee dirigenten kunnen zichzelf niet in de hand eh... poot krijgen, maar de derde overwint zichzelf en krijgt de baan.Het poppenspel wordt verzorgd door Neville Tranter, die de poppen ook heeft ontworpen en gemaakt. De muziek wordt uitgevoerd door het wereldberoemde Osiris trio. Het geheel is mooi èn grappig, en staat garant voor een welbestede middag.Het concert heeft precies het juiste formaat: niet te lang, niet te ingewikkeld, maar zeker niet kinderachtig. Je kunt niet anders dan de slappe lach krijgen als je de dodo bezig ziet, en op de Russische beer word je gegarandeerd verliefd.En tenslotte raak je ook nog een beetje ontroerd vanwege de stress-oren van angsthaas. Wegens toenemende agendadruk van de huidige violist Vesko Eschkenazy, concertmeester bij het Koninklijk Concertgebouworkest, is in goede overeenstemming besloten dat Vesko vanaf seizoen 2010-2011 niet langer verder gaat als violist van het trio.Het Osiris Trio, opgericht in 1988, is inmiddels aan zijn 21ste seizoen bezig.In 2006 besloot mede-oprichter Peter Brunt uit het trio te stappen om andere muzikale wegen in te slaan. Het Osiris Trio was`zeer verheugd dat Vesko Eschkenazy zijn plaats wilde innemen. Met Vesko als violist kon het trio zich verder ontwikkelen en de concertpraktijk in Nederland en daarbuiten verder verdiepen. In dat geval is het wel een geraffineerd aardigheidje. Voor `Melodies of love and death` arrangcerde Bob Zimmerman vijftien stukken uit romantische opera`s. Het is niet de bedoeling om mee te zingen, maar de muziek is zo aanstekelijk cn pianiste Ellen Corver, violist Peter Brunt en celliste larissa Groeneveld spelen die zo smakelijk, dat die neiging nauwelijks is te bedwingen. Blijf maar eens stil bij Donizetti`s `Una fortiva lagrima`. Wie toch zijn mond houdt bij deze collectie `opera senza parole`, ontdekt niet alleen hoe sterk de melodieen zijn, maar ook hoe goed Zimmerman de stemmen van de instrumenten gebruikt. Er is bepaald niet alleen gekeken naar de noten, maar ook naar de woorden die ze in de opera vertegenwoordigen. Luister bijvoorbeeld naar de aria waarin Carmen tijdens het kaartspel haar eigen dood voorspeld ziet worden. Ook werd het trio door het Concertgebouw uitgenodigd om deel te nemen aan de serie Rising Stars. Deze concertserie bracht hen naar de grote concertzalen van Keulen, Londen, Wenen, Stockholm, Birmingham en NewYork voor het succesvolle debuutconcert in Carnegie Hall. Een door de New York Times zeer goed ontvangen optreden in The Frick Collection leidde tot een reeks van toernees door de Verenigde Staten en Canada. Het Osiris Trio heeft meerdere malen opgetreden in het kader van een staatsbezoek.

Het trio heeft inmiddels vele cd’s op hun naam staan, allen lovend ontvangen. Messiaens “Quatuor pour la fin du Temps” met klarinettist Harmen de Boer ontving een 10 in het muziekblad Luister en dagblad Het Parool besloot de recensie van de opname van Nederlandse pianotrio’s met “Internationaal topniveau”. In juni 2011 verscheen bij Challenge Classics een bijzondere CD; Melodies of Love and Death, beroemde opera-aria’s gearrangeerd voor pianotrio door Bob Zimmerman.De repertoirelijst is breed en veelzijdig en omvat het pianotrio-oeuvre van Haydn tot en met werken van eigentijdse componisten geschreven in opdracht van het Osiris Trio. Componisten als oa. Klaas de Vries,Willem Jeths, Theo Verbeij , Maarten van Norden, Jan van Vlijmen en Robert Nasveld hebben op deze wijze bijgedragen aan de uitbreiding van het pianotrio repertoire.
